OUR WORK

Real Projects. Real Cities. Real Data

Every engagement starts with a city’s actual data – messy, siloed, and underutilized.
We return it standardized, connected, and ready to drive decisions.

San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA)

Production CDS Pipeline for Citywide Curb Management

The Problem

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) recently advanced its Digital Curb program to improve how curb regulations, roadway assets, signage, and curb-related infrastructure are managed, maintained, and integrated across city systems.

To support this effort, SFMTA required a reliable, standards-compliant data pipeline capable of synchronizing curb regulation and sign asset data with its Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS).

Signage and curb asset data existed in multiple formats across disconnected systems, including separate departmental databases, legacy asset inventories, GIS environments, and operational platforms where data was stored, retrieved, validated, and communicated differently across teams and leadership groups.

As a result, the data required transformation, validation, deduplication, and street-network snapping before it could be standardized and operationalized within the Digital Curb program.

What We Built

  • Production ETL pipeline ingesting raw sign asset records
  • CDS-compliant schema translation with full policy automation
  • Linear referencing to snap assets to curb segments — no manual geocoding
  • EAMS integration for near real-time regulation updates
  • Publicly accessible CDS Curbs API powering city and third-party applications

The Outcome

A live, production-grade curb data pipeline supporting SFMTA’s Digital Curb initiative — one of the first CDS-compliant deployments at a Tier 1 US city.

OpenGov Minnesota

Multi-Source Transportation Asset ETL Pipeline

The Problem

OpenGov Minnesota needed to unify transportation asset data from two separate vendor APIs — Cartegraph and Flowbird — into a single standardized pipeline. The two systems had incompatible schemas, undocumented gaps, and no shared data model.

What We Built

  • Ingested and normalized data from both Cartegraph and Flowbird APIs (XML format)
  • Identified a critical gap: TariffPackages were embedded inside Terminal records with no direct endpoint — extracted and surfaced them separately
  • Coordinated directly with Flowbird to build an additional API endpoint; integrated and reconciled the enriched dataset
  • Built a nightly ETL pipeline with ongoing ingestion — new records flow automatically
  • Delivered data dictionaries and documentation for each data source

    The Outcome

A production nightly pipeline unifying two vendor systems that had never been connected — with gap resolution that required vendor collaboration, not just engineering.

    CAUHEC

HIPAA-Compliant Platform for Allied Health Education

    The Problem

CAUHEC needed a technical leader to oversee the build-out of a preceptor matching platform for allied health students – managing an overseas development team while maintaining HIPAA compliance, product quality and delivery pace.

    What We Built

    • Served as Fractional CTO – owning product strategy, technical architecture, and team management
    • Architected HIPAA-compliant data storage and access control for student and preceptor health records
    • Oversaw development of matching engine, file uploads, messaging, payment, and compliance verification workflows
    • Managed overseas engineering team across time zones – QA oversight, sprint planning, and release management
    • Established development standards and delivery processes from the ground up

      The Outcome

A functioning preceptor matching platform serving allied health education programs – built to HIPAA standards, managed across an international team, delivered on an ongoing retainer basis.

SSO Integration for Health Learning Management System

      The Problem

HSH needed to integrate single sign-on into their health health-focused LMS to streamline credentialing workflows for health educators – without disrupting existing user access patterns or compliance requirements.

      What We Built

      • Architected and built an SSO portal using OIDC and SAML protocols
      • Integrated with the existing LMS user access control system
      • Designed and integrated a custom workflow that integrated with the existing application architecture
      • Designed a testing harness to ensure a secure and scalable solution

        The Outcome

A functioning SSO integration enabling seamless, secure access for health educators – reducing friction in the credentialing workflow and establishing a reusable identity architecture pattern for future health platform integrations
